Hello, we are Anita and Roy Miles, and we live in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England. Our kennel club affix Yantiora, was derived from our Christian names mixed together.

We have been dog lovers for many years but because of work commitments we were unable to devote the time we felt a dog needed until that fateful day in 2003 when after much searching we decided to buy a Tibetan terrier.

Anita, had for many years admired TT's from afar, and at last we decided to start the process of selecting a TT. We tried many breeders, however someone recommended that we speak to Cheryl and Dave Johnson of Khados TT's. This was the start of a whole new life for us.

We were not aware at the time but TT's were in great demand (no change there then) and most breeders had waiting lists and we like so many future TT owners were disappointed that, unlike many dogs, they were not available off the shelf so to speak.

Eventually we were delighted to be invited to view the new litter and immediately fell in love with them. We had told Cheryl that we required a white and black Dog and there was such a beast in the litter however we were both struck by the beauty and temperament of the litter and asked if we could visit again.

Little did we know that Cheryl was vetting us!!! Then for the next few weekends we visited Cheryl to become aquainted with the puppies and TT's in General. Khados is a well known breeder and they personally had 14 TT's at that time. We were able to see and appreciate how fantastic TT's are to have around.

Then that fateful day came when Cheryl rang us to declare that we were being allocated a puppy and its name was MARTHA. Well we immediately knew this was the puppy for us. Unbeknown to Cheryl, Martha was Anita’s nickname at home as she was obsessive about cleanliness. So we took charge of our new TT, a beautiful black botch with white markings

This was the start of our great adventure with TT's. Martha grew up completely spoiled and Cheryl and Dave were there all the way to help and guide us. (Gently scolding us for spoiling our beautiful girl with too many treats)!

Martha turned out to be a beautiful dog with an almost human characteristic, something most TT owners will testify to. She was more than just a pet and we decided to purchase another TT to make our family complete.

Off we went to Cheryl and Dave, however much to our surprise rather than selling us a new puppy Cheryl suggested that we might want to breed Martha and keep one of the puppies.

We talked to them about it and asked whether they could guide us through the process, they were more than happy to help.

This was the next stage of our adventure. Cheryl and Anita started to plan the special event and we were looking forward to having a new puppy and the experience of selecting our own companion for Martha.

We asked Cheryl to select a Sire for us and rather than use one of her own dogs she approached one of the leading Kennels in the UK, Alilah Tibetan Terriers for the honour of using their Champion Dog Alilah Gervaise. Little did we know that that fateful selection would completely change our lives.

Soon Martha was confirmed that she was ‘in pup’ and as the day approached Cheryl was in attendance whenever we needed her, reassuring us that everything would be OK and that ‘Khados’ would be there for us.

Well the day of the birth came all too soon and just as Coronation Street started Martha decided this was the time to give birth. Very soon Cheryl and Dave were on hand to ‘help’ and over the next 4 1/5 hours Martha gave birth to EIGHT beautiful puppies.

We chose our new puppy immediately after the birth and called her Maize. The other puppies were fantastic and very soon we were being visited by other breeders and friends. Cheryl was always popping in with advice and guidance and we will never forget the fantastic help we received from her and Dave.

Soon the puppies were leaving and this was a very difficult time as we had become very attached to them all. However some of the puppies still visit us and they are all a great joy to see.

However one of the puppies a small black bitch came back to us after about 6 weeks and we took her back into our family and so we kept two of the original litter. Her name was Mary!
